The main dermatologic
pathologies that can benefit from a thermal
treatment, and particularly from thermal water,
are: Eczematous dermatitis, as a thermal
treatment reduces inflammation; by contact
dermatitis the bathing therapy helps restoring
the hydrolipide film and soothes from itching;
Psoriasis, a common
cronic skin disorder. Pharmacology can help but has a
limited and uncertain success against it. The best
therapeutic solution for psoriasis is a combination of
bathing therapy and phototherapy; Urticaria and other itchy rashes are reduced thanks to
thermal treatments. Many patients have reported that
thanks to these treatments, they were released for long
periods from the typical symptoms of their skin problems;
It is evident that thermal water has a beneficial effect
on skin and even though we still don’t know all the
mechanisms that regulate this action, we can say that
its combination of trace elements, organic substances
and warm temperature helps the skin in many ways:
by raising the level of trace minerals in
epidermis: thermal water stimulates and
invigorates the skin;
thanks to the high level of salts in thermal
water, the skin benefits from a deep
disinfection;
the warm temperature of water helps
vasodilation. In this way it raises metabolic
exchanges and stimulates vessels;
by raising sweat glands secretion, thermal
water helps our body to get rid of toxins and
stimulate the cleaning of the skin;
analgesic action (particularly helpful for
skin illnesses that cause itching);
deep stimulation of immune system, so that
the skin gets stronger against various
infections.
